Before we begin our journey into ball mounts it is important to establish the amount of rise or drop you may need in your ball mount. With weight capacity considered, we will provide you with the proper information to solve this issue. When beginning to choose the correct ball mount for your set up it is important to determine the amount of height difference between the trailer and your tow vehicle also known as the rise or drop. Rise (positive) or Drop (negative) will make all the difference in safety, comfort, and convenience when towing.
To determine this we take the distance from the ground, to the top inside of your receiver tube opening (A), we then subtract it from the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler (B). B-A=C, A.K.A the drop or rise.
